Frank Howard Stephens, Sr.
SAVANNAH – Frank Howard Stephens, Sr. died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Hospice House. He served his country with the 117th Air National Guard during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Stephens retired from Southern Bell after thirty-nine years of service. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church for many years.
Frank is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Vera Davis Stephens; two sons, Frank H. Stephens, Jr. and his wife, Bobbie, of Thunderbolt, GA and C. Barry Stephens of Macon, GA; and a daughter, Nancy S. Heath and her husband, Herbert, of Bluffton, SC. He has seven grandchildren, Jenny S. Barber and her husband, Dan, of Statesboro, GA, Marie S. Thurman and her husband, Christopher, of Cumming, GA, Frank Douglass Stephens, Tiffany S. Rice and her husband, Justin, of Columbia, SC, S. Brianne Stephens of Alpharetta, GA, Holly M. Swinson of Columbia, SC, and Gregory M. Swinson of Bluffton, SC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace B. Slater and his father, John Arlie Stephens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Bonaventure Cemetery.
